Estate Sale Update

Last Sunday, I went to the tail end of an estate sale in Carmel. I wouldn't have known about it if my friend, Tyler, didn't give me a heads up on a console that was posted on Craigslist. Thanks Ty! Here are some pics of the great items I picked up...

It was great chatting with the husband and wife, Art & Gail, who flew into town to run the estate sale for his Mom. They gave me the history on all the pieces I purchased. It was apparent Art's parents took great care of everything they had, many of which have been with the family for decades.

I'll be adding these items to the online shop soon. However, the Telefunken Stereo Console has already been purchased. Thanks Todd & Nancy!

There was one piece, a coffee table, the owners weren't selling; I still had to take a picture. Art told me his father designed the table, then he had a furniture maker bring it to fruition, while he was stationed in the U.K. The marble top came from an English quarry. I don't remember the type of wood that was used for the base, but regardless, it's a beautiful piece...

The Online Shop Is Up :)

This vintage La-Z-boy is the first piece purchased from the online shop. Thanks David & Michelle, not only for buying it, but for also being the test subjects providing vital feedback before going live!

Within the next few days, I'll be adding quite a bit of items, within each category. It'll give customers a good representation of what's in the shop. I intend to add items often. However, there will also be merchandise that may not make its way to the online store, so if curiosity is getting the better part of you, please stop by the shop here in Marina. :)

Here's a peek at some new arrivals that'll be available soon...

I appreciate each of you for your time, patronage, and interest with the shop! It has been great networking with many of you and I feel privileged to having forged new friendships along the way.

dunepad turns One!

I opened the shop October 21st, 2012. It's hard to believe its been one year. I appreciate everyone's support and encouragement to keep it going. Many, many thanks!!!

Marina Library Book Sale

If you're in the area, the Marina Library is currently having their annual book sale. It'll run from 9.20 thru 9.22. For the specific hours and location please visit The Friends of the Marina Library.

Here are just a handful of books I picked up for the shop. Stray collection, but I can't help liking what I like :)

Added To The Inventory

I recently bought these goods from a customer and friend who was kind enough to give me first dibs before she sets up a yard sale. The community yard sale is on September 14th & 15th, from 8am - 4pm, located at 800 Dolan Rd, Moss Landing.

Desk Restore

It was fun working on this project. I only sanded down the top of this desk, since the drawers and each side were in pretty good condition. When I purchased this piece it was missing the back paneling, so I used balsa wood. I stained the top and the backing with Minwax Walnut Wood Finish. As for rest of the desk, I touched it up using Howard's Restore-A-Finish. Sold. Thanks Tyler & Josh!
