Tizio Lamp
Tizio Lamp
The vintage Tizio lamp is in excellent condition. A perfect harmony where form follows function. Despite its small base, the Tizio lamp stands steadily in every angle, thanks to counterbalanced metal arms. And note, the wiring is entirely concealed within the lighting’s frame.
Full reach: 30”
//Tizio won the Compasso d'Oro design award in 1979 and it belongs to the collections of many museums, such as New York’s MoMA.//
It was purchased in 1998, at Modern Artifacts (now closed), in San Francisco. I accidentally stumbled across the store while en route to Zuni Cafe for a quick meal. The shop was way ahead of its time. Chris Houston, the store owner, had no hesitation sharing his wealth of information on the history of good design from the Post Modern Era.
